A little about Phil McCraw
I am 55 years old and have lived in Cana my entire adult life. I began working for my father at VA 500 in 1970 at the age of 14. I actually did not plan on this family business to be my life’s work. I was going to become a dentist, but due to a tractor accident involving my father, at the age of 20 I had to turn my attention to running the business until he made a full recovery. That took approximately a year. At that time I decided to stay where I was and didn’t go back to school. I’ve always been satisfied with that decision.

Education/Military Service/etc.:
Graduated from North Surry High School Class of 1974. Attended Surry Community College 2 years

Family Information:
Married to Patricia Ayers McCraw.  Have two children - Stephen and Jennifer.  My parents were Reed and Ruth McCraw.

I am a member of First Baptist Church in Galax, and play in the church orchestra. I am also very active in Blue Lodge Masonry. I am a member, Past Master, and current Treasurer of Granite Lodge #322 in Mount Airy. I am a Certified Lecturer and also the DDGL of the 25th Masonic District of NC.
