The Building Official’s Office is located in the Carroll County Governmental Center on Pine Street, Hillsville, VA, 24343.

Effective March 1, 2012

We will start using the 2009 codes instead of the 2006.  We will require wall bracing plan for all residential before an approval of permit.

Carroll County adopted the USBC in 1973 in compliance with State Law for the assurance of quality construction, health and safety. Building permits are required for construction of all types along with permits for electric, plumbing or mechanical before the work starts. Permits for mobile homes are issued through this office also, prior to moving the mobile home.
